About the Opportunity  

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an IT Director to join our team in Vancouver, BC

Please note that while this role is based at our Vancouver head office, this role will also require travel to the Smithers office, the Stewart warehouse, or Brucejack project sites as needed (approximately 10-15%).

Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee the team that provides IT and ERP support services.

More specifically, you will also oversee and manage an IT group that supports a large number of diverse systems including standard IT systems, mining specific OT systems, IP telephony, CCTV systems, CATV systems, access control systems, radio communications, microwave communications and other technologies.  

You will also provide management over support for the Company’s integrated ERP system (JD Edwards) and any additional system interfaces while considering the business implications of the current environment.

Key duties include: 

  • Managing an in-house / outsourced IT department, day-to-day system issues, and coordinating between departments and external consultants in order to mitigate, and resolve the issues in a timely manner
  • Acting as a key liaison between Pretivm departments and external third party consultants
  • Managing various systems, and their related support personnel including JD Edwards, Cisco Infrastructure, Microwave communications, Satellite data & voice communications, Motorola Radio systems, CATV Systems, IP Telephony (including Skype for Business), IT & OT networks, Infrastructure & cabling, Sarbanes-Oxley IT Controls, Microsoft End User Products (including Windows & Office), Microsoft Server Products (including Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint & SQL), Access Control systems, CCTV systems
  • Managing key initiatives in process/system improvements, and upgrades
  • Budgetary planning and managing IT resources and support personnel
  • Developing and maintaining the corporate intranet site
  • Implementing best practices for the security and reliability of IT systems 
  • Managing and overseeing contracts with outside IT vendors as well as overseeing IT purchasing and deployments 
  • Ensuring all software licensing is compliant and up to date 
  • Managing the Brucejack site OT infrastructure in coordination with OT personnel 
  • Managing and maintaining the physical IT infrastructure and monitoring outage response for all in scope IT systems
  • IT policy development, maintenance, and implementation 
  • Delivering business value through optimization of JD Edwards and DAS
  • Ensuring compliance with all licensing agreements
  • Assisting in troubleshooting technical issues, performing root cause analysis, and resolving data integrity problems

In order to qualify for this role, you will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, IT, Engineering, Finance, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Technical IT certifications such as MCSE and CCNP are a definite asset. 

Above all, you will be a well rounded IT leader with proven people management skills and demonstrated success with the operation and management of a technology information service management environment, involving complex network architecture, data center production facilities and remote client support resources. You will also have strong communication skills, be highly organized, and have the ability to manage multiple shifting priorities
